Clive Darby is a leading men’s Creative Director, Designer, Brand Consultant and Entrepreneur.

Having been instrumental in the launch and growth of three highly acclaimed international men’s brands, Richard James, Kilgour and RAKE. Clive developed a strong client-centred philosophy creating items that customers want to wear, not what they are told to wear became a founding principle of Clive’s career.

After his role as Menswear Buyer for Browns, Clive joined forces with Richard James and Sean Dixon to open ‘Richard James’ in Savile Row. As Retail Director, he oversaw ready-to-wear and bespoke sales whilst building a strong and loyal customer base. Clive progressed to become a co-owner of Kilgour, a Savile Row tailors with over 130 years of history. Clive oversaw the re-brand and re-launch of Kilgour in 2003: As Retail and Wholesale Director, Clive worked very closely with fabric manufacturers, mills and talented individuals from around the world to help create one of the most sought after menswear brands.

Clive founded contemporary lifestyle label RAKE in 2009. RAKE offered elegant, forward thinking interpretations of classic pieces using the finest cloth, suede, leather and cashmere. RAKE was founded on the belief that a modern international man needs a multidimensional wardrobe that mirrors his lifestyle and reflects his individuality. These distinctive collections embraced the lifestyle and essence of today’s modern man.

Clive has worked with numerous menswear brands as a consultant and in some cases full time. Most recently Clive took the mantle as Collections Director at Alfred Dunhill Ltd. This role was solely created for him and he was responsible for three collections that the brand launched and sold. Autumn/Winter 16, Spring/Summer 17 and Autumn/Winter 17. During this tenure Clive assumed Creative Direction of reinstating the Sulka brand both in terms of designs and packaging.
